We had the training session with the doc today to start the Peg and Riba. Bad news was, the NP that hubby really liked, left the practice! So we were assigned a new PA today. She seems knowlegable but very young and VERY new. She said she just started with this group a year ago right out of school. Sigh. Kinda burst our bubble a bit. But we will see.

WELL IF THAT ISNT A SCARY THOUGHT I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS BUT GUESS SHE HAD TO START SOMEWHERE!

Hopefully she will turn out to be a good thing and maybe even have some fresh ideas and approaches to things for you both.
Hathani
Thats what I was thinking Hath. She isn't burnt out yet! :)

You know girl, she might be exactly what you guys will need.
She's gonna be anxious to collect data from your husband.
When they are young like this they are very enthusiastic about learning, and hearing everything, like the sides, how he is when it comes to resting, and sleeping at night. ect...
No, I do beleive it's a wrong for a good, if you understand what I mean.
Ann Port our Research Consultant nurse for our hepatitic c combo treatment, was really great, and took her time with us, we felt like family everytime we could visit with her.
She'd give us gifts, every time.
Like care packages from the co. with each dealt with, anything new she had received, she would give us both one.
Really cool Lady, she was a bit older than I, and lived on a farm growing up, the same with Dr Linda Scully, our hepatologist.
Both came from families of farmers, no make up, just plain Janes, but they knew their stuff, believe me.
Dr. Scully came here to the States for many Hepatitis c conferences, in Boston.
To come back to Ann Port, I would have my list of side effects, and no matter how many, or how weird the side was, she blamed it all on the treatment.
It's normal she said, all the time.
I just couldn't believe how much damage these meds could do to a body, while on treatment.
Richard was just plain angry all the time.
He never once complained about side effects, but he must have hurt and must have been weak like hell, since he lost 32lbs during his year long tx.
He was also a greyish color of skin.
We he looked so sick, and on the verge of death that my parents begged me not to go on this type of chemo.
But there was no way in hell he was gonna be cleared of the virus, and not I.
So I did the whole 48 weeks of horrible side effects, and won the war against the dragon.
So yep, might be a good thing that your RCN is young.
Never once did Ann suggest me to put down my riba dosage.
If I knew then what I know now, I would have put down my dose of riba.
I took 1200mgs a day, which was way to high for me.
My viral load was very low, so there was no other reason but that she wanted me to clear the virus, that she let me suffer like such.
I'm sure that at 800mgs a day, I would have won the war anyway, and I might not have so many long term side effects.
Is you hubby type 1 hunni?
How much is his viral load, do you know?
Do you know how much riba he will be on? How much does he weigh?
Keep us posted love.
