I'm 22 years old and a senior in college. I transfered schools and took a medical leave of absense, so I'm a year behind. I'm a Marketing major. My goal is to graduate next may, and get married next June. I have a very hyper kitty who I love very much! I am also very blessed because my family and boyfriend are very supportive and loving. And most importantly, I know that God is always with me, and He will help me overcome all obsticals.

Hey did you get married this past June? Did you graduate?
I havent been on the computer - It's a long story. I didnt have enough $ for my Dr's appt last month so i had to go off my meds cold turkey & i m having bad withdrawals but the Lord is good and is helping SO much. I wish i was rich so i could help ppl like me. I dont wish this on ANYONE or think anyone should EVER have to go through this!

Close Anxiety
I have had GAD,MDD,and PTSD since Dec. 2005.I've also had cronic pain since Jan 2005.In NOV 2005 a minor surgical procedure went south,&I had 2 have emergency major abdominal surgury.All of my mental problems are due 2this & my chronic pain.However I'm working very hard 2 try 2 get better.I see a psycologist &I am on medication.Most importantly,I'v finally put my entire trust in God-I know that He will help me get threw this difficult time as I learn to overcome my disabilities
Treatments
- Breathwork Working / Worked
- It helps to calm me down during anxiety attacks
- Lexapro Somewhat Helpful
- It was an improvment over not taking anything, but I still had lots of anxiety attacks while i was on it. I also gained a lot of weight. I'm on Cymbalta now and I like it ALOT better!
- Meditation Working / Worked
- I have to calm down first.
Close Endometriosis
I started experiencing pelvic pain when I was 17(in Jan 2005). At first, it was only during my periods. Then it became more intense & more frequent. My Dr thot it was endometriosis, so I had a laporoscopy in nov. 2005. He didn't find any endometriosis, but he nicked a vain which resulted in major abdominal surgury. I had another laporoscopy a year later. Recently, I also started getting abdominal pain &during a CT scan, the dr discovered endometric tissue on my torso, which is very rare.
Treatments
- Ortho Evra Somewhat Helpful
- I was on the patch for 4 months I did not feel as many side affects as I did on the birth control pill. The patch helped the pain more than the pill, but my gyno took me off of it because he was worried about long term effects
- Surgery Not Working
- During my first laporoscopy my dr did not find endometriosis
- Swimming Considering
- One of my doctors suggested that it might decrease the pain. I havnt tried it yet.
Open Chronic Pain
I have had cronic pelvic pain since Jan. 2005. It affects every aspect of my life, and I have developed depression, anxiety, and ptsd because of it. I have had one surgury, two laps, an colonoscopy, upper gi, two ct scans, x-rays, and countless sonos. My drs finally figured out I have pelvic floor dysfunction. I was suppossed to start physical therapy for it, but my drs wanted to stabalize my mental conditions first. This Jan. I also developed abdominal pain due to endometriosis.
Treatments
- Chiropractic Adjustment Not Working
- The PT realigned my pelvis--I even heard the pop! It decrased my pain for about a day, but then the pain continuted.
- Cymbalta Somewhat Helpful
- From what I can tell, it helps me to handle my pain a lot better. I still feel the same amount of pain, but the pain doesn't seem as emotionally overwhelming as it used to.
- Heat Somewhat Helpful
- It helped ease my chronic abdominal pain, but not my chronic pelvic pain.
- Meditation Somewhat Helpful
- It helps for pain level 7 and below.
- Mobic Somewhat Helpful
- It made me feel too disoriented.
- Morphine Working / Worked
- It completely stopped my pain, but I also suffered severe hallusinations and nausa.
- Physical Therapy Considering
Open Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionI have MDD and disthymic disorder. This is due to three years of chronic pain and a surgical procedure that went terribly wrong.

- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Considering
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- I love Cymbalta! It has changed my life! It's so much better than lexapro. The only side effect I feel is hot flashes if I take it late.
- Lexapro Somewhat Helpful
- It's better than not taking anything, but I had alot of side affects: weght gain, insomnia, hot flashes, and I still had a large amount of bad days and anxiety attacks
- Meditation Somewhat Helpful
- Positive Thinking Somewhat Helpful
- It works best with the help of medication.
- Psychotherapy Working / Worked
- You need to find the right counselor for you.
- Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked
- It helps sooooo much!
- Writing Not Working
- It made me feel worse.
Open Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
I was going to my dream college-a prestegous private university. I had a minor medical procedure preformed over thanksgiving, and I began to bleed internally. I was in ICU for 3 days & the hospital for 2 weeks. I had to learn to walk again & I had to change colleges and move back home. Within the next two months, both my grandpas died and someone tried to break into my house (I stoped him.) It was overwhelming for me--I havn't felt completly safe since.
