It just hit me that today is July 4th - I think I'm supposed to make a picnic or something. Well, no pic-a-nic baskets here, Yogi!!
I am finished with CyberKnife, the ultimate in modern day radiation treatment! I did it: five days in a row, unable to move for two hours while a gigantic machine roamed around the floor blasting me with its Darth Vader rays. The radiation I had 7 years ago was nothing at all like this - that was mildly scary and this was majorly terrifying. BUT, I did it!!!
I found out on Tuesday that two more tumors were found - in the bone where I had been having pain. They were within 'the scope of treatment' that the insurance company finally approved, so my plan was altered to include them as well. Another scan will be scheduled in 3-4 months to determine how effective this has all been.
Overall, I am back to that wet-noodle feeling. My arms and legs have no strength, but I will get back on my feet out of a sheerly stubborn attitude. I'm glad I had a month between chemo and radiation to build up some strength.
