What a difference a week can make!
Many of you already know this, but last Wednesday I was fired from my job for "excessive absences" for the time I had to take off when mom was in ICU for almost 6wks and subsequently after her passing.
I was just devastated ~ being a single mom, I cant afford to be unemployed. So I was under a lot of stress and anxiety about that which was only compounded by still dealing with the loss of my mom too.
Now, only FIVE DAYS later, I have a great job offer!!
My cousin Derek has two small businesses and has offered me a great job working for him! He and his mom (Aunt Sandra) were talking a couple weeks ago (BEFORE I lost my job) about how he needed to talk to me about coming to work for him. His businesses are growing and needed someone with a background better suited for the companies' future (no longer parttime office help here or there). When he found out about my job, he called me right away. We talked at great length about my background and his needs and where he sees this job and his companies going in the future, and we both were very excited to find such a perfect match: HR plus Marketing plus PR plus Admin Asst (its as if we're combining all of the jobs I've ever had into going to work for them)!
It gets better! Not only is he offering me a job making MORE money than I was here in Dallas, but also offering me free room and board at his house for me and Haden thru the summer ~ so that I can save up money to get our own place. PLUS... since he and Cari have 8 kids (that's right, EIGHT) that she home-schools, and a live-in housekeeper/nanny, Haden will be taken care of too while I'm working! Even after we move and get our own place, Cari will continue to keep Haden with her kids ~ so NO daycare costs!! He is just going to LOVE being around his cousins all the time, especially when we're living there and he's going to be staying in the room with their four boys!
Talk about a hefty compensation package!! They dont even make pills that can make you feel this good this fast! :)
So wish me luck. We have to be up there by the end of the week. Derek is going to be out of town the following two weeks and wants me to get started before he is out of pocket. How motivating will it be to work for someone that you respect and admire on THAT kind of level!? I just think its awesome!!
Thanks to all of you for your prayers and support throughout everything lately. I dont know how I could be so lucky to have such wonderful friends and family!! I've told you this before... Yall are angels sent straight from heaven! :)
I just feel like God himself has reached down and lifted me up!
