Today 

 

Today I am happy.

I am in a good mood,

It is a beautiful day.

But the happiness is stretched thin

Membranous and translucent

Fragile and illusive.

It is layered over me

Like a wedding veil.

Like a funeral shroud.

Covering the real me

A temporary thing.
