Dear Missay, Hi Sweetie! I haven't heard from you, so I thouht I'd send you a hug! What have you found out about your gallbladder? Are you getting it out? Since you haaven't put much info in your profile, I feel like I'd love to know more about you. Where are you from? How young are you? What are your dreams, pet peeves, etc. Write to me if you get a chance. I'm always here to share with and give you support. Love & hugs Elaine

Your systoms sound like classic gallbladder problems. I'm no doc, but that the first thing I'd check out.

My doctors in the past all told me to drink metamusil, or citicell, and eat foods high in fiber. Thay only made my stomach blow up like a baloon and made me sick to my stomach. My new gastroenerologist told me never to do that! Especially since I have lazy bowel and IBSC. So I stay away from fiber, and eat foods that are easy to digest. That has made a huge difference for the positive, but everyone is different. High fiber is usually what is recommended.

I'm With You

Dear Missay, Yes, my bloating did go away except for the times that I'm really constipated. My bloating is caused bu trapped gas, and trapped gas is very painful. I take gas-X, but I don't reaaly notice if it helps that much. What I do is lie on the floor and roll bac and forth with my knees up to my chest. Then I get in a stoopinging position with my head and knees on the carpet, and roll back and forth. This usually causes the gas to come ripping out. I avoid lying in bed at all costs since this only makes matters worse. I also use a heating pad in the high range for at least 20 min.'s and repeat the exercises. Walking also helps. After I have a bowel movement, if it ends with diarrhea. that's when I fill up with gas. I also fill up with gas if I'm constipated and don't have a bowel movement. If that's the case, I wait until the diarrhea is pretty much over, then take a librax (an antispasmotic). It's the only one that works for me. Bentyl doen't do anything. Then I start with my rouytine of exercises, heating pad. and walking. Usually, within 48 hours, the bloating if all gone, and my tummy is flat again. I hope this might work for you - that is if you even have IBS. Another thing that helps to diagnose IBS is that your stool will not look normal. It may be real skinny and soometimes crooked. This shows where the colon has squesed down and had a hard time staying straight because of the spasms. That's not a required systom, but if you have it, you probably have IBS for sure. I hope I have been of some help. Check into the posibility of your gallbladder being the problem first. Then we can go from there. Love & prayers, Elaine

I had very little pain from my glallbladder, since the condition of it took some time to develop. The surgeon said it looked very sick and should have been taken out years ago. Any time you have gallstones(even 1) they suggest surgery, because one could get stuck in a pocket and if it moves could cause pancreatitus, which is fatal. Although rare, you don't want to take that chance. I finally started having a different kind of pain than I usually have with my IBS. The pain was much higher up and went all across my abdomen. That's what brought me to my doctor's office screaming do every test you've got, but I felt like I had an ulcer or something else. I was getting a lot of heartburn and suddenly developed acid reflux disease. Also, after I ate, I hurt, making me not want to eat-especially greasy foods. I never thought about it, but gallbladder problems ran in my family. My mom had them, but she opted to complain and do nothing(that was when the surgery was major and they made a huge incision.)My older sister had an operation 2 years before I did, and she said it was a breeze, and she went back to work 2 days later. My surgery was also a breeze. The doc only made 4 small incisions with one through the bellybutton. I recovered in 2 days, and now I have to look hard to even find the scars. Did your doc do a sonogram of your abdomen? If not, how do you now you have a gallstone? What did he tell you? I hope I have been of some help. I'll be praying for you, and I hope you will get back to me about this. God Bless, Elaine

This doesn't sound like IBS to me, but I'm not a doctor. It could be your gallbladder. I had to have mine out because I was bloated and full of gas all the time, but I also had IBSD. My doctor adviced me to stay away from medimucil, citricell, andthing with bulk, and it healped.I suggest you go to a doc.
