I'm so frustrated I could scream! One of our company nurses sent me an article on how Cymbalta is helping with nerve pain and is being prescribed for that purpose. She suggested I try it. I researched it and talked to my dr who did prescribe it. After several weeks of taking it, I did notice an improvement in my severe sciatica. So I've been taking it for several months. I wasn't really happy about taking an antidepressant so I cut back with the intention of stopping but the pain came roaring back. When I tried to have it refilled, his nurse left me a message saying the dr doesn't think I should still be needing this to help me sleep. Help me sleep???? That is NOT why I take it. I would think as a spine specialist, that he would know that this med is used to treat nerve pain. And you can't just abruptly stop taking it - you need to wean off slowly or you have side effects. So I will have to call the office on Monday and educate them - Like I said - so frustrating!
