I'm married to my first love, we have 4 children and 8 grandbabies (had them while in kindergarten!). Love to be active and was a workout fanatic before back issues interfered. Still hoping to get some of that back.

Thanks for the hung!
hello... I saw your post today and said, yes our friend is back! I'd bet you've been busy with the grandkids, and hopefully not with lots of pain... grr on the last. It's strange, and wanted to tell you this. "My" sciatica (I feel I own it, haha), has been with me for over 2 years, and I ignored it because other things had to be treated. But I am doing PT, and now accupuncture, icing, heating, exercising, stretching. Nothing was helping and it is PAINFUL and mindful all the time. Then I had the worst rib pain and chest pain, and a cold. Once everything started to break, the ribs weren't pulsing, and my sciatica is 90% better. Maybe the inflammation from the cold was affecting the lower back and then the legs? Only God knows for sure! I just thought it was interesting. I have my 2nd accupuncture today and will let you know if it wow's me or is just a relaxing hour.
it sure is enough to worry about health, which follows up around 24/7 second by second when it's miserable. But then to worry about work, which is NOT fun, geeze. We've been there and done the work worries for 40 years before my hubby became disabled and I just couldn't do it any longer, so I know how everything adds up. But it pays to be optimistic because life changes from moment to moment and good does happen... before you know it or even know it. About the sciatica, the first PT had me doing rubber band stretches, which causes just about the same amount of pain as walking up stairs. That ended that and found a new therapist that does some hands-on, very unusual in NJ. So keep looking around, just like you would for anything... there's good, better, and best.
Chronic back pain off & on since 1998, worse over past 6 yrs. Had discectomy in 2001 and had two level decompression May 15, L3/4 & L4/5. Worst complaint is bilateral leg pain - can no longer exercise, take walks, etc. Waiting to see if surgery helped.
I've suffered from sciatica for about 6 years; very debilitating. Have had 2 back surgeries, last one 10 days ago. Still having nerve pain in both legs and praying for relief from the surgery.
