Close Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis

I was diagnosed with Ulcerative colitis about 15 years ago. I went untreated several years (about 3-4 years) before that. Right now I'm using Asacol to try to keep things in remission. Unfortunately that's not working now, I'll be looking into upping the dose or trying another medication. I've got a colonoscopy coming up in June so I'll get to find out how my insides are doing. Update: colonoscopy went fine my doctor removed three polyps. Lialda has been working good :)

Treatments

Asacol Somewhat Helpful

It seemed to work at first and keep me in remission for the most part. But hasn't been effective in getting me out of this last flare.

Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked

Can't have steak, too rough on the insides. I made the mistake of having some celery last week BIG mistake. I won't do that again. I've got to stick to easy to digest foods.

Lialda Working / Worked

It's working great, I've been on it since June and so far so good

Close Parenting Teenagers (12-18)

I've got three awesome kids, daughter 17 that just started college, son 16, and another son that is 11. I'm getting use to the changes that come with them growing especially my daughter. She's driving and going to college now as well as working part-time. Now I worry everytime she's out on the road, there are so many crazy drivers out there.
