I am a single mom of three and proud grandma of three grandsons and two granddaughters. Up until my amputation and stay in hospital last winter 08, I did own and operate an antique and collectibles business, which I have since closed. I also belong to the ALS support site as I lost my younger brother in 2003 to this disease. I come from a large family 6 brothers and two sisters. My goal now is to learn to walk again I am hopeful that someday my left leg will regain sensation and I will be able to qualify for a prosthetic.

lost my right leg Jan.01/08, first below knee, then above due to infection,my left leg was left useless after many operations, (neuropathy). I am not content to stay in the chair if there may be a chance some day to walk, so I will keep hoping my leg may come back. Until then I will learn all I can from this site. -joy
