Close Endometriosis
A never ending plea to doctors to "consider" I had something going on since every month I missed school/work and spent most of the 5 days of my cycle doubled up and in great pain. It took 20 years many ER visitsto finally get a Dr to do a lap. Endo was so great she "freaked" and did nothing! Told me to "live with it" and take Lupron. No way! I found a Dr who WOULD go back in and remove it! I lost my right ovary and tube though but DID have an IVF miracle baby 13 months ago!

- Surgery Working / Worked
Close Hypothyroidism
total thyroidectomy in Feb 2006
Treatments
- Armour Thyroid Working / Worked
- so far so good! I switched from Synthroid and so far don't regret it! Very hard to get a doctor to prescribe Armour, but the surgeon who did my surgery felt it works for some people very well. I hope I am one of them.
- Synthroid Working / Worked
- Since my full thyroidectomy, Synthroid kept my TSH in "normal" range but all over the board-too hyper and I felt the effects even though my endo thinks it's OK.

Open Panic Attacks
After a bad case of Eppstein Barr Virus in 2000, I was bedridden for 3 months and misdiagnosed with many diseases that all turned out to be false. This illness changed my whole ability to deal with stress (even good stress) and as a result I started having panic attacks and general anxiety. Some days are very tough, but I have many good days.

Open Dementia
My mom is 62 years young and has a rare form of Dementia. Her disease moved so fast! I was giving birth to my 1st and only child at the age of 39 when I was told my mother is terminal. It has been a hard time this year. (She went directly from the hospital into an Assisted Living Center last March and I know she isn't coming home. At some level though, I see her improving and I think I go into denial. I then see how the disease is affecting her and I just feel so sad
