Good Morning Journal Buddy: It has been awhile but I had to take a break. This Thursday night our daughter finally goes for an MRI after waiting since mine ruptured in Jan. 2008. Finding a doctor that would order one was the hard part. She did not have a family doctor and clinic doctors did not want to get involved with all the paper work. She found one a few months ago and has had more tests in the past two months then in her whole life. Once she gets the MRI results then she will work on not smoking. She does not smoke a lot but still smokes. The method she will use to help her quit can increase blood pressure so she needs to know what is going on in her brain. We both had the same kind of head. Who calls who and asks what is your head doing, cloudy, overcast, the same questions. Our heads were like weather machines. Could tell it was going to rain before the weather person forecast it. My right shoulder and arm would ache, hers is the left. The only thing that worries me & Steve is that her headaches have always been more severe than mine. When she gets hers, she is sick to her stomach for a few days. Maybe this is because she has small kids at home and has to deal with them too whereas I can go to bed and sleep till I feel better. My brain doc says he will take her on if she has a problem but smoking has to be a thing of the past. She wants to quit and we know she will even if she does not have an aneurysm problem. Can not wait for the reslts to come back. I know what I have been through and I do not want this for her especially with children at home and only 35 yrs. old. The best thing is the fact that she is being tested and will find out before a serious problem can happen. Now, on the brighter side of the day. She will be calling me soon to go to the mall with 2 of her kids. My Kirsten and Dakota. Kirsten wants to get her ears pierced for her Birthday and Dakota wants to go to the show. Oh, to be a kid and have no worries. As I typed this I thought about kids that do have worries. Funny how the mind works after a major shake up in it. Well buddy, thanks for another day of listening. Things get better all the time. Almost forgot to tell you about a thing that happened. A few weeks ago I could not sleep. Woke up at 1am after a strange dream. My head had lights going on and off and strange feelings running through it. I was afraid to go to sleep in case I did not wake up in the morning. I looked over at Steve and he was proped up in bed. I asked him what was wrong and he said he was watching me because he was worried too. He put his arms around me and said sleep, I will watch out for you. I went to sleep and had another dream. This one told me my brain was getting nerve endings back in place and things would be okay. In the morning when I woke up, my face, inside of my mouth, and teeth were not as numb as they had been for the past 20 months. The only numb feeling is on the top lip on the right side of my mouth and cheek. Can not wait to find out if anyone else has experienced this . I have joined a group of brain injury people who meet once a week to discuss how things are going. This coming Thursday will be my first meeting. The founder of the group was out to our home Friday and talked with me about the group and what was going on with me. She says she makes an agenda but after a few minutes, they discuss what is on their minds and things work out okay. I will tell you more about this after next week. The people there are brain aneurysm, accident, tumour, stroke victims. We are all at different levels of recovery and damage done by our problem, but all willing to help and get better. It is a good thing for me because now I will have someone to talk to about what is going on. It is at the hospital where I had my rehab after rupture only 10 minutes away. Time to stop and I will let you know about the group and how our daughters test goes next week. Thanks to Mr. Bubbles too. He told me to get involved with a group.
