I fell in love with the ocean when I lived in Cali. Unfortunately, the cost of living is WAY too expensive for me to live there now (and old friends have moved on with their lives 
).
I've been way to far from it for way too long now.
Numerous "rental wanted" ads on Craigslist have gone nowhere, and the Atlantic is too far away for me to, on a regular basis, drive there.
Why is it that in my life NOTHING will move FORWARD? I'm nowhere near the lovely large waves yet I fell like I'm drowning.
Can anyone help me out?

But i do understand the water thing..i live on an island and surrounded by it..I might even take it for granted cuz it is all I have known ...however, I think if i had to move away from it i would certainly miss it.
Your life will move forward I just know it will..it's just taking longer than you hope ..
