I am a 44 yr old, single mom, from Iowa. I'm a survivor of domestic abuse and currently in counseling for a gambling addiction. I've been trying to escape the pain for years. I'm currently learning to like myself for the first time. Some of my wonderful qualities are my humor, friendliness, my smile, my love for the outdoors and I'm a great listener plus I'm very loyal to my friends.

Close Gambling Addiction & Recovery
I'm 44 yrs old and I have a gambling problem. I like the slots. It started out going about once a month,then once a week. But after I won big $3,000 twice in 2 wks. It became out of control. Now I'm in debt and my family and friends can't trust me. I've tried suicide twice. Your not going to believe this but it all happen with in a 8 month period. WOW

Close Physical & Emotional Abuse
I'm a 44 yr old single mother living in Iowa. I left my ex about 9 yrs ago because he was abusing me. But even though I left him he continued to emotionally abuse me for the next 8 yrs. I recently got another restraining order against him, but now he is picking on my daughter. I know he is a sick man and that I'm not to blame, but all the years of abuse as really taking a toll on my self esteem.
Treatments
- Abuse Counseling Working / Worked
- I have been in and out of therapy for 8 yrs. It works for a while but then I slide back into my old feeling of useless self worth. Currently trying hypnotherapy. The verdict is still out on this.
