    • About Me

I'm a mother of two, work full time (computer programmer analyst) and married for 9 years. I found this site when looking for info on CP involving heel cord & hamstring lengthening. Currently, left arm restraint (goal of 3 hr per day) so only his right arm will be functionable...and greatly improve.

The dual surgery of heel cord & hamstring lengthening has really changed how my son walks.  He was fortunate to have a pool to swim most …

    • Close Cerebral Palsy

My 8 yr old has been in OT/PT since 5 months of age. He has been under the care of a neurologist until Spring, 2005, then cared for by a physiatrist (doctor of physical therapy; excellent, by the way). After 3 sets of Botox in arm & leg, the heel cord & hamstring needed surgery (June,2008). He's doing VERY well recovering.

      Treatments

Heel Cord Lengthening Working / Worked
My son, age 7, had heel cord & medial hamstring lengthening (June, 2008). All is well with continued PT; even walking with his right foot straight; need to improve muscle control to stand on tip toes.
