About Me
I am an older woman diagnosed with fibromyalgia 4 years ago. I was told I have probably had it for much longer than that.But because I was taking Elavil for depression, I was able to cope. I have 6 adult children, live alone, and don't know if I believe in Fibromyalgia, it seems like everyone has it. So , consquently when I am in pain my brain goes everywhere but Fibro. I am also a mother of six grown children, and many grandchildren. I've been a self taught artist for a long time but only recently been able to devote as much time as I want to it. It seems I sabatoge myself though. Now that I have the time, I spend most of it lying on couch or reading. Then I beat myself up every night , thinking how I've wasted the day. Truthfully, though, I'm just plain old tired.

Close Fibromyalgia
First diagnosed with depression, then anxiety, then panic attacks , then pain that no one could tell me where it comes from. Was checked for M.S. , Lupus, and a whole lot of other diseases, but all it took was one Dr. to poke on my upper chest, and I nearly went through the ceiling. I thought for sure I'd have a huge bruise. She finally diagnosed me with Fibro. But because I'm on a fixed income with no health insurance, I've not seen a specialist.....so I continue to doubt if its really Fibro. Whatever it is , it continues to worsen, fatique is one of my worst symptoms, no stamina, can't sit or stand for long without pain. I live alone, am older and afraid.

Hi everyone, I'm a older woman, living alone in a tiny apt. on fixed income. I have six children, and 14 granchildren (still shocks me when I write 14 grands, cause I've decided I don't really like little kids...; ) I am a artist and have painted off and on for 24 yrs or so. Now I have time to paint all the time, but do I do it...No. I have discoverd that your children do not want to be your best friends, which was really hard as I tend to be reclusive and my life was my children.
