Journal Entry for January 9, 2009 Mood
Friday, January 9, 2009

With the recent/upcoming changes in power in our House of Representatives, I suppose we should expect things to fall through the cracks.  This is to encourage everyone to crank up the interest again in the bill introduced last September to increase awareness of autoimmunity.  H.R. 7078 is showing NO activity since early in November.  IBD is an autoimmune disorder.  That it is not specifically mentioned in the bill does not make it any less an issue of autoimmunity.  This bill is important to all of us!

Please write to your representative and urge him/her to support H.R.7078.

To access the bill go to:  http://www.statesurge.com/bills/398086-hr7078-federal

Scroll down the page to the bill text in PDF format.

To find out just who your representative is, go to: http://www.house.gov/house/MemberWWW_by_State.shtml and click on your state to find a listing of representation in your area.  You may also go to:  https://writerep.house.gov/writerep/welcome.shtml and follow the instructions on that site.

I'll get off my soap box now but please follow through on this.  Imagine ... what would it be like to have to go to only one doctor rather than a different one for every symptom or interrelated disease we have ...  It is sure one of my favorite fantasies!

New House Bill! Mood
Thursday, November 13, 2008 | A Breaking News story

Are you aware of recently introduced H.R.7078 which has been cited as the "Prevention, Awareness, and Research of Autoimmune Diseases Act of 2008"?  This bill would increase public awareness of and research on autoimmune diseases in order to help patients get diagnosed more quickly and receive proper treatment as soon as possible, as well as improve the quality of life for those already suffering from autoimmune diseases.

How many of us are truly aware of how interrelated our health issues are to so many things?  Speaking personally, in the past 20 months I have been diagnosed with three autoimmune diseases one of which (AI Hepatitis) was the direct result of treatment for one of the others!  I'm confident you know too that the symptoms for my Crohn's disease didn't just crop up two years ago.  It took years and multiple physicians to "figure out" what was going on with me.

I implore everyone who reads this journal entry to please communicate with your House Representative and encourage him or her to co-sponsor this bill.  Read the document.  The numbers and issues contained within it were real eye-openers for me.

For more information, go to: The American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association (AARDA) web page.  Click here to see a list of the autoimmune disorders identified thus far.

most all of those AI diseases could be helped by LDN, why don't they just research what's helping thousands all around the world? :)
