Here where I live, we have to renew our driver's licences every 5 years. I did mine today. There are only two offices in my home city dealing with licenses and it is about half an hours drive from home!

I was surprised to find how fast they were this morning in comparison to 5 and 10 years ago. I went there with my daughter, very early, and was preparing myself to stand in a long queue. To my surprise, the offices were already open when we got there (an hour before they were supposed to open) and I only had to wait for about five minutes to be assisted.

I have not driven a car in quite a long time, but it is nice to know I am licensed when an emergency should crop up and I have to get in behind the steering wheel.

Wow, to think that the last time I renewed my license, my eldest son was still alive.....
