Journal Entry for April 2, 2007 Mood
Monday, April 2, 2007
I visited my sister and she is starting to look better. She is in a mental health facility for 30 days. I'm not sure what her future holds but this is a start.
The dr's asked her if she wanted to have shock therapy. I don't know anything about this procedure. Does anybody out there know something. She is a very small
person. She is 5'4 and weighs 90 pounds. (she is anorexic) Anyway they want to do shock therapy because therapy because she is bipolar. Any info would be very appreciated. thanks

My 22 year old daughter is bipolar too. Diagnosed only about 2 years ago. So, I don't know about this procedure, but it sounds scarry. I have heard it used for behavioral modification before but I think the results were somewhat sketchy. I too am glad you are checking this out and I would get a second oppinion if you have the authority to do so.
