I am a computer programmer. I am a single mother with a 6 year old son. I was diagnosed with UC in 2000, and had a few really bad episodes. In 2007 I ended up in the hospital for three weeks extremly ill and was to the point where I couldn't eat for weeks and couldn't even drink water and was rediagnosed with Crohns. While in the hospital they put me on Remicade and I have been on it since Feb. of 2007. It, along with prednisone and a mixture of drugs helped get me back in remission and now I go get infusions of Remicade every eight weeks. I have been in remission and feel great and have my life back.

Treatments
- Asacol Not Working
- Did not work. Also very expensive and lots of pills to take 3 times a day!
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Somewhat Helpful
- When sick, or feel like I am getting sick I stay away from certain foods and it helps.
- Azulfidine Not Working
- Made me very sick, my body didn't like the sulfur.
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- works when sick, but horrible side affects and get sick again when I stop taking it.
- Probiotics Not Working
- seem to agitate my symptoms and pain
- Remicade Working / Worked
- So far working great. Been in remission for over a year now.
