    • Close Dyspraxia & Apraxia

My grandaughter has Dyspraxia and she is almost 14years old. she coped quite well with school and had a few friends up untill secondary school. But over the last 18months she has lost all the friends and really isnt able to communicate or socialize with kids at school, she spends hours alone on the computer and has made "friends" through an art website which is the only contact she has with kids her age (apart from her cousins)It breaks my heart to know she spends break times at school mostly wandering around aimlessly on her own.Teachers have recently managed to get her to spend lunch break in a "homework classroom" but even in here she doesnt speak with anyone. It isnt that she is disliked or is a nasty kid, its all because she finds it impossible to join in conversation because as she says "She gets tongue tied" and so prefers not to speak.I would like to hear if anyone else has any experience of this and is there some "therapy" out there that we are missing? As she was diagnosed Dyspraxic aged 4years we have dealt with quite a few different issues regarding this but this is the biggest challenge so far and I just wish there was a way that I could help make it easier When she has a really down day she gets upset because she hates being "a loner"and how sad for her to not have one friend in school. I would appreciate to hear from anyone that can relate to what I have said, thank you
