About Me
Well its been a while since i updated my profile, so here goes, My name is Ashley, i\'m 23, i have 3 children ages 8, 5, & 2 & I\'ve been married for 6 years. I came to DS initially for Thyroid Cancer support, i was diagnosed with it in October 07, I\'ve had 2 lobectomies, 1st the removal of the right thyroid lobe (which was found to be cancerous) and then the completion (removal of the left lobe) which was non cancerous. Since then i\'ve had 2 RAI treatments, and 2 body scans, and i\'m more than likely to get another dose & scan next yr, because my recent scan was not clean.

Close Thyroid Cancer
Type: Follicular CarcinomaWhen i was preggo with my son back in 06' my obgyn found a lump in my neck and i had an ultrasound, and biopsy, and i had to have it removed, it was a nodule on the right side of my thyroid and it was malignant, (it was then i was dx with thyroid canncer in 07') and still fighting it
Treatments
- Cytomel Somewhat Helpful
- I only took it a month before my scan,i take Levoxyl regularly. I cant recall any side effects except when i stopped for the 2 weeks before my scan i was feeling tired
- Radiotherapy Too Soon to Tell
- I had RAI.The side effects i've experienced are a bad taste in the mouth, and a sore throat and some mild swelling in the neck area.
