im 66 and just moved back to Ohio.I had lived here all my life.Was married 37 yrs to my lst husband he passed away ll yrs ago.Met another man 8yrs ago and married him.Now we are getting a divorce.Need help adjusting to this.Thought Daily Strength could help.He became an alcoholic and very controling had to leave.

Close Breakups & Divorce
Ive been to a support group as a widow and it helped alot.My husband became controlling and an alcoholic.I just couldnt stand it anymore and had to leave.I was afraid of him.Just trying to figure out what happened.We were so happy the lst 4 yrs.Then the drinking started.Please tell me how to handle this and what to expect in the future.
Close Physical & Emotional Abuse
Divorced my husband 8mo ago he was mentally abusing and controlling me.Then he turned to alcohol.Had enough got out.Now trying to cope.
Treatments
- Divorce Working / Worked
- feel better since im free but left its scar and i lack self confidence
- Group Therapy Working / Worked
- joined a Divorce Support grp.seems to be helping
