This week has been hectic as usual in my life. I took my son back to school clothes shopping and have decided that boys are just as picky as girls. He just wanted basketball shorts but it seemed that the ones he wanted were $35.00 which I thought was outrageous but apparently not. These are just shorts nothing fancy for him to run up and down the court and get sweaty in. My goodness they don't even have anyone's name on their butt...lol Needless to say he got 1 pair and we found them on sale for $19.95 but only had one kind he liked. Of course! If they are on sale we don't like that style, color length whatever. He is only 12. I say only 12 but nowadays it's 12 going on 20. We made plans to go back shopping in a week to look at bluejeans. But he's not allowed to grow for at least 6 months. But we had fun, laughed and joked alot so it was a good day.
I got a letter from my nephew who is in Marine boot camp in San Diego today so that was great. He is a wonderful young man and I am so very proud of him. I worry about him day and night but he has always wanted to join the Marines so I am happy for him. He graduates from boot camp on September 5th and will get to come home for 10 days and I know an awesome man will walk through the door. My Dad was so proud of him and I know he is busting his buttons in heaven bragging about his Marine grandson. He did you proud, Daddy.
My life is still in somewhat of a turmoil due to some personal things but I'm working on it and trying to get things back in order. I've been fighting depression for several weeks and I'm praying alot and trusting God to help me through this time.
Next week school gets back in session and I will have the house to myself. That will be a blessing because I really want to get back on a work out schedule and try to lose some of this weight. I don't like how I look or feel and I think once I get my weight under control I will feel better physically.
Been busy this week canning beans, salsa, jelly and apples and even though I've been busy I really have enjoyed the time I get to spend with my mother in law. We enjoy our garden so much and we spent all day yesterday canning and laughing and talking and that was so much fun. I'm truly blessed to have the wonderful mother in law I have.
Well I've rambled enough for now.

You ARE lucky to have wonderful family to share the ups and downs with. I was at a tag sale last weekend, and the Mom was outside and her teenage daughter was in the house. Well the daughter yelled out the window was it o.k. to wear her new school "skinny jeans" out. Her Mom said no way, she would ruin them before school. The girl said No way, if she didn't break them in, she would look like a geek. I had to laugh to myself, I remember those days. You are right, they may be young, but they THINK they are all grown up. I wish you a peaceful night, take care of yourself and get some rest. You are the gardening guru..... Hugs, alice

Sound like you've been very busy. You made me laugh about the "no name on the butt of the expensive shorts" Like Alice said, you are blessed with a wonderful family. Some days will be better then others. Time of grief is different for everyone. I think it was so great of you to have those special memories with your dad. So hang in there, sweetie.
