Close Parkinson's Disease

I was diagnosed with PD in 1999. I have not had an easy time of it. Side effects from medication left me feeling yucky too much of the time. Sons of man I was in love with said, "you're going to die & leave us to clean up the mess". I do wonder if one of my falls might be my last. Two bad incidents have been on my face with broken teeth. Last one was a year ago end of this month... insurance has not paid... lots of things you learn to cope with the hard way.

had samples... Insurance would not pay for comtan.. said I could take two others instead of it... I wanted less meds not more.

Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) Working / Worked

an taking a lot less medication since (Jan 2008) going gambling end of this week... first time in 3 years.. will let you know if it gets out of hand.

Mirapex Working / Worked

Gambled too much.

Neupro Patch Working / Worked

right when I was starting up it got recalled. get a red spot from the patch... could put up with that if I didn't have to take medicine on top of Neupro.

Requip Working / Worked

Sinemet Working / Worked

Stalevo Working / Worked

same comment as for comtan... liked the less times a day and one dose rather than two. But got to work with your insurance.

Symmetrel Working / Worked

discontinued after hallucinations and fall requiring hospitalization.
