Dear DonnainBC,
God bless you and your daughter!
I had a TBI when I was your daughter's age. Although it was probably not as severe as hers, it took me a long time to get over it. Years later, recently I have developed TN.
Almost nobody seemed to understand everything I was going through, at the time. You, however, are a wonderful help to your daughter.
The only good thing that resulted from my accident, was that I trained as a Special Ed. teacher, and had some TBI kids in my class. I like to think that I was able to provide insight and support which I wouldn't have been able to do, if I had not had such an injury myself.
Hang in there, the last word isn't said about your daughter. My husband had a head injury too, in which he lost his sense of smell. More than 10 years since his accident, he is still getting smells back.
I'll pray for you.
Love, Dulcinea2
Thanks !!!
All the best to you , this season
Im actually from Alberta but ive got a lot of family in BC. I wish I could live there instead :/
Looking @ your profile, your in Vancouver? Is it snowing over that way yet? I was through there yesturday, and am through that way frequently. Had to visit a friend down in "False Creek" last night. Got stuck on the skytrain trying to get home. Too much ice and snow build-up on the tracks. So had to detour by bus. Took an extra hour more than the norm but finally made it. Many bus routes out this way have been canceled do to road conditions. OH well- good excuse to stay home. LOL
