Close Breast Cancer
Stage: IIA (T2 N0)

I was diagnosed with Stage 2a breast cancer in June 2007, my sister passed away from breast cancer in May 2003, so this was a real shock when I found my lump. My lump was 2.5 cm, no node activity, margins were clean. I had sentinel node biopsy, mri, and ultrasound, and then diagnosis. I finsihed my radiation Feb 28, 2008, had 33 treatments. I am currently on tamoxifen. And as of right now will be on it for 5 years. I was 41 years old when dx, I am now 42. I plan on beating cancer!

Treatments

Chemotherapy Working / Worked

Taxotere and Cytoxan, for 6 treatments.

Radiotherapy Working / Worked

I had a total of 33 treatments, 28 regular and then 5 boosts. Everything went well and finsihed on time.No complaints, except having to go daily

Surgery Working / Worked

Lumpectomy and port surgery. Lumpectomy was sucessful, and port was very helpful through chemo and bloodwork.

Taxotere Working / Worked

6 treatments, one every 3 weeks. The first 3 treatments were pretty rough, I had a reaction to Neulasta shot, and then a reaction to Leveaquin. Finally, the 4th treatment was fine through the end. I finished Dec 11th, 2007.

Nolvadex Working / Worked

Just started taking it March 2007 so far it seems to be okay. I am on it for 5 years.
