I had a talk with Jeff on the 4th of July, most of the talk was about how much more responsiblility we have taken on, etc etc.  Jeff is 21, and I'm 25, 26 in 2 months and he is pretty much new at EVERYTHING.  Generally he is worried about sinking financially, or failing at life all together.  Because of his "newness", we both have a hard time meeting eye to eye, and thats the main problem is our age gap.  Never thought i would be with someone so "inexperienced" at life, however he can kick the shit out of me at his profession, and I am quite proud of him and what he has accomplished thus far.  With all that said, at the end of the talk, I told him that as much shit I've been through over the years, it will not allow me to fail, and the lessons ive learned have taught me to take things much more seriously now days.  Told him when I was younger, I was bull headed, and hot tempered and that I have a sense of purpose now. A way to use my anger and assertiveness in a positive way, (moving up, taking care of serious business).  OUR new mission is the welfare, and safety of this family. Told him that the truth is, is that my life belongs to him and this family.  Now that I am drug free, have an actual reputation, and a good job at stake as well as a family to look over I feel like a new man!  Do yourself a favor, (people reading this), read my status message.
