I am not this fragile body.
We are not our bodies. This may seem an odd assertion. After all, there is no other object on this earth that we know more intimately. Why should we not identify with it?
What is there about our bodies that is tangible? Of course it has substance, but how do we account for volition? A corpse is just as tangible as a living being, and yet no one would mistake the two. Something mysterious accounts for the differences between a live and a dead body. Something annimates us.
It can be confusing but one thing is certain: I am not this fragile body.

I agree with you Kim. We are NOT our bodies. Our bodies are only clothing to what lies inside and THAT is who we are. Technically, our bodies are not even solid, but rather made up of many atoms and molecules. Our souls are what animate us and our souls exist long after our physical bodies do. So many people put such a high emphasis on physical appearance and that's really sad because those people are missing out on having some really good people in their lives. Great journal!

Lonely24u's explained it really well here - better than I could.

Exactly. I agree completely. We make what we are. A dead body and a live one are distinguishable because in one we are no longer there. We all must keep going to show we are still here despite what are bodies have done to us.
