Put forth your effort with no tought of gain
One should not pray or meditate with any thought of gain.
Hold no expectations. Then the rewards will come. If one strives for power and gifts no true results will come, and one will become lost in lust. Praying for results brings no results--the true spirit appears only when there are no expections to hamper it.
Books and teachings talk of the results of meditation becasue they prepare the aspirant for the experiences that will occur. They are merely descriptions of what you will encounter.
Sit down with not thought of results and you will go naturally and spontaneously with Tao. It is admittedly a paradox. We are to know what to expect, yet we should allow them to appear as they will. It seems irrational and innefficient. Yet if you would know Tao, there is no faster way to enter the midstream.
Maybe this thinking is new but in fact it is in the oldest of proven spiritual foundations.

it's all about what is the set of priorities you have
and try to make efficiency is your goal based on your beliefs
know it's not us, who do things, not the muscles not anything of that kind, it's only the desire
it makes a lot of sense to me, you want this, you'll have it, don't "push" to get it
and back in defining "push", you have harm others
if you waited more it could have come to you peacefully
this is a very good reason behind not to expect all what you do to happen, only what you desire, but in an unexpected time
I won't argue, more until I search more about it
but until now, it makes sense to me
