Close Renal Cell Carcinoma (Kidney Cancer)
I was diagnosed RCC after falling and breaking my right femur in October,2006 and the the complete tests including a pet scan showed a tumor on my left kidney with metaastasis to the mediastinum, both are inoperable.I have had 3-4 months of Sutent--tha same with Nexavar--with minimal success and major side effects.Currently I was given Toricel for 5-6 months with a slight decrease in size of the tumors-and no aparent increase, and now I am receiving Avastin-a CT Scan in a few weeks for results.
Treatments
- Chemotherapy Working / Worked
- Sutent-not working/Nexavar minimal reduction of tumors---very severe side effects! Toricel/removed carcinoma- submandibular lymph nodes(muscle and joint pain) and finally Avastin--waiting for CT Scan-sie effects minimal.
- Nexavar Working / Worked
- Minimal reduction in size of tumors.GI Problems, fatigue, malaise,etc.
- Sutent Working / Worked
- Sutent. No real measureable improvement in tumor reduction or overall well being. Mouth sores ,bleeding gingiva,diarrhea,lost 25 lbs.
- Avastin Working / Worked
- Bimonthly treatment for 4 months showed slight derease in size of tumors to date very minimal sie effects.
