Hi! I am doing better. I've just had mainly trouble with sinus infections. On round 4 of antibiotics since about a month ago...and still have it. It is a side effect of Humira...argh! But my crohn's has been better. I'm on an anti-depressant. I was on Cymbalta, but recently they switched me to Lexapro. It helps some. I try to stay upbeat, but it is hard some days.

Thank you....not 100% yet, but better than last night. Slept a lot today, as I was soooo tired. Funny how this disease makes you want to sleep. I think I am depressed, too. And that isn't helping. I am normally a funny upbeat person. I think I am just so dissapointed the symptoms are coming back every day after I try to eat.

Close Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis
I was diagnosed with Crohns 11 years ago and one of my daughters was diagnosed with Crohns a year ago. I am getting ready for my very first surgery for a sticture. YUK.
Treatments
- Asacol Not Working
- one of the first they had me on, but they ran right thru me. SO had to change meds
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked
- no dairy, no fresh veggies or fruits or anything with a skin, no nuts or seeds and no spicey foods
- Colazal Working / Worked
- helped, but no longer taking
- Entocort Not Working
- i was nauseated 24/7 on this, had to change
- Flagyl Not Working
- constant loose bowels
- Folic Acid Working / Worked
- Fosamax Working / Worked
- Lomotil Working / Worked
- very rare that I need this now
- Methotrexate Working / Worked
- taking this for several years now. Now I only take it for my arthritis
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- have to take 5 mg. the rest of my life. Had surgery in 2008 and am no longer on this.
- Probiotics Working / Worked
- OMG I was having 24/7 gas and bloating and started on this and no more gas or bloating.
- Purinethol Working / Worked
- did real well on this for many years then my Arthritis Doc but me on methotrexae so I had to go off of this
- Remicade Working / Worked
- went from every 8 weeks to every 6 weeks, I am feeling bad about at the 5th week now and i am on 800 mg. Had surgery and had to start all over again with the every 8 weeks at only 400 mg.
- Surgery Considering
- actually i am seeing the surgeon next week (4/30/08) for my first surgery. Had a Right Colectomy and no longer have Crohns symptoms. Doc said I am in full remission.
- Vitamin D Working / Worked
- so far so good, I have to take 4000 IU's a day

i am 49, I was diagnosed with CD in 97. I also have Entropathic Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Osteoporosis and am going thru Menopause
