    • About Me

I am very happily married to my best friend and love of my life. We have four wonderful children. Each of our kids has a lifelong disease to deal with. Our oldest has rheumatoid arthritis, the other three have type 1 diabetes. Recently, my love was diagnosed with ALL (Leukemia). Our world has been turned upside down! He is in aggressive chemotherapy right now and we are praying for the best.

    • I’m With You

Yes, I know how you feel. My love has been diagnosed (March 11, 2008) with advanced cancer - started in the lung and advanced to the brain. It is terrible. He has finished cycle 2 of chemo and had full head radiation for the brain tumor. We will repeat the scans next week. Believe it or not he gained about 5 pounds. However, his hair loss was bad and earlier this week we went to have it all shaved off. It looks okay this way but he is depressed about it as he looks so different. I try to stay together with prayer and humor. All any of us have is hope. Please remember God does not give you more than you can handle. If all the bad breaks seem to fall your way, thank Him for the compliment. God bless you and take care. He is tired all the time. But other than this, no side effects from the chemo.

    • Close Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL)

My husband was recently diagnosed with ALL. He is currently taking 3 types of chemotherapy and prednisone. Thanks to our great God, he hasn't suffered too many side affects. He is weak, he has lost a good bit of weight, he is losing his hair but, no major sickness. We are praying that remission will come soon!

      Treatments

      Chemotherapy Too Soon to Tell
Very slight nausea the first day after, tiredness, loss of hair.
      Neupogen Working / Worked
White blood cell count came up after the shot. Side effects: pain at injection site, sweats for the next 12 + hours.

    • Open Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis

I have suffered for several years with this disease. I finally got a diagnosis last year after 3 five+ day hospital stays! I have a hard time keeping my Crohn's in check because my life is stressful! I have 3 kids with type 1 diabetes, 1 with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, and my hubby has Leukemia. I just started having terrible joint pain. I don't know how to get it under control!!!

      Treatments

I had to take this for quite some time before I noticed any difference.
