Looks like soon enough I'll be looking out for all you crappy drivers on your cell phones while you drive your mobile death machines. That and chipmunks. And gravel. And rain.
I considered my vehicle options. I think a beater car that I would be able to afford is not a good solution. Sure it's safer. Sure I can move stuff and not get wet. But the price is steep. Insurance steep. Maintenance steep. Low mpg. It'd be different if it were a Jeep Wrangler like I had (and sorely miss).
So motorcycle it is. Price mediocre. Insurance low. Ride forever on a cheap full tank of gas. Maintenance fair. Enjoyment high. Grounded when it storms though. I'll just have to cart crap around by renting a truck. Let's hope I don't die or end up in the hospital.
I am not a crotch-rocket speed-thrill rider or an obnoxious sounding street cruiser with a *blub-blub-blub-blub* header/muffler type rider. But I like both kinds despite their macho images. Practical point A to B in smoothest, most aerodynamic, and overall safest way is what works best for me. Maybe a sidecar if any are still made so I can go to the grocery store.
