    • Interests

Interests include reading, movies, love to shop, walking for exercise. I used to love to play tennis and dancing on a Saturday night! At the moment my recovery is taking up all my time and my lifestlye has changed but I have hopes things will get back to "normal" soon.

I had a spinal fusion in 1979 when I was 14, so its been a long time for me, but I still remember the lenghthy recovery, I hope you get some help, even if it turns out to be temporary for your depression, I hope you feel better after you are fully recovered. Its a major surgery, a lot to go through-Hugs, Bonnie

Thank you for answering my question and for the advice. I wish you a safe recovery and think that you are very brave for having to get 2 rods in your spine. Get well soon, cheers, Krys

    • Close Scoliosis

I have scoliosis compounded with Spondylolisthesis at L4-5 which requires surgery in the very near future. In 2003 I had surgery for sciatica.

      Treatments

      Brace Somewhat Helpful
I wore a brace throughout my childhood until I was 19.
Spinal Fusion Too Soon to Tell
I just had my surgery on June 4th. Recovery is difficult and long but I'm trying to be positive.
    • Close Depression
      Type: Clinical (Major) Depression

On June 4th of this year I had surgery for Scoliosis and Spondoloythesis. It was a total spine fusion (please read profile for full story). Now I think I'm suffering from Post Surgical Depression.

    • Open Chronic Pain

      Chronic pain due to Scoliosis.

      Treatments

      Heat Working / Worked
Ok before my surgery, not so helpful after surgery.
      Hydrocodone Somewhat Helpful
I am now post surgery and this med is barely taking the edge off the pain.
      Naproxen Working / Worked
      Seems to help a bit.
      Neurontin Working / Worked
Worked great after surgery. It was the medication that made PT possible forme!
      Oxycodone Working / Worked
Works the best for me right now.
Physical Therapy Too Soon to Tell
Trying to get my body back in shape. This is a tough surgery to recover from.
