Close GERD & Heartburn
I've probably had GERD for a year or so but didn't know since my only symptoms, at first, were coughing, clearing my throat and hoarseness. A few months ago, I got a terrible burning in my throat after I ate.
Treatments
- Aciphex Working / Worked
- Was working at 20 mgs. twice a day but my family practice doc wouldn't prescribe
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Not Working
- I get GERD from everything I eat.
- Nexium Somewhat Helpful
- 20 mgs twice a day was pretty helpful if I was very careful when I ate in relation to taking the meds. When I took 40 mgs. twice a day I got debilitating side effects.
- Prilosec Not Working
- Worked for about a month then stopped working completely.
- Protonix Not Working
- Got bad stomach pains from this and it didn't really work very well.
