I talked to my son Thursday night after he just got home from karate. He is in 10th grade in Madison, Mississippi -- a suburb of Jackson. On their first progress report, the LOWEST average he had was a 96 in Spanish. I visited him in early August and we stayed at a nearby (to his home) State Park in Mississippi. He plays guitar well and I watched him earn his probationary black bely in Taekwondo during the vacation. I have a lonely life except for DS friends, so I have decided to live vicariously through my son, whose life is great.
Like, threads of a nature you see all the time. A "number one" is the "I'm closing my account" thread; wherein the author has to get in one last dig at everybody and express that they have "had it with DS" etc etc. Others respond with "Don't go", and sometimes there is a reversal and even an "I've decided to stay" thread following.
Then frequently someone offers up a number two -- the "I'm going to hurt myself" thread; ranging from suicide to cutting.
A number three is the ole "Well, Nobody responded to my thread so Fuck all of you" thread, although that's not so much a topic as a reaction to the non-reaction of a topic. Any post that doesn't get responses right away is subject to become a number three.

Best one I've had in 5 years of separation from my son BECAUSE HE CALLED ME AT 11:30 AND WE TALKED OVER AN HOUR! I am planning on taking vacation in August to see him, and have been wondering what to do during that time. Today he expressed a real interest in playing Tennis, because he doesn'y get to do it all that much. This made me happy because frankly, he goes to the Beach so much and stays in Condo with friends that I know I can't compete with that, so I was glad about the tennis, something we can do together.
I called my dad, he was not too talkative, I had spent two days with him last week.
