About Me
I'm 43. I work in the medical field. Probably my biggest accomplishment in life was homeschooling my two kids K-12. I gave my life and made them top priority every day we were together. Now they are grown and come and go, moving in for a while if needed. I put my own interests and health on the back burner while raising them so I have slowly gained weight over the years. I would like to find someone to walk with me for exercise, let's have fun battling the bulge together shall we? I want to be able to do more and have more fun and energy to do it. I just found out on March 9, 2009, that I have renal cell carcinoma, so a new battle begins. But I try hard to stay on the up side, finding reason every day to laugh and smile. Scheduled for a left kidney nephrectomy March 30th.My oldest daughter has had degenerative disk disease for 13 years, so I can help you with advice on that if needed. I'm a great listener and have helped a lot of people over the years. I have a big heart and love helping others in any way I can. I love to laugh and joke around and make others laugh. I find a reason every day to laugh and smile about something. I hope to find a great mate one day to share this journey called life with.

Interests
My cat, reading, ebayer, long scenic drives, visiting little towns and out of the way places. I like to go to the movies and out to eat or just stay home as well and watch a movie. I enjoy board games, especially scrabble, though haven't found anyone interested in the same for years. I like photography, visiting nature preserves and walking the trails. I love fresh flowers and buy myself some often. I like to garden on my patio too, plants, flowers, even green peppers and tomatoes! I enjoy reading as well. I also enjoy getting together often with friends.

Hi Brenda! It's Hunter; we haven't talked much on here, but I promised that although I'd been going thru post surgery 'stuff' I'd make it on my big computer to come say Happy Mother's Day to all the friends list folks. I really am sayng prayers and hoping that your Mom's Day was WONDEFUL, and that you are covered in good feelings of health. If this finds you otherwise, know that hugs are being sent your way anyway. Hugs, big time! Hunter

I’m With You
Hi Becca...thanx for the great message u sent...so is your doctor going to cut you open from your side or your abdomen?? I had mine done thru my stomach and I was off for almost 2 1/2 months...you will deffinatelly need more than 2 weeks for sure.I am shocked he told you 4 weeks that will be to hard on you. YOU NEED TO BE OFF AT LEAST 6 TO 8 WEEKS....a nephrectomy takes a while to heel....Im just trying to say PLEASE dont hurt your self by going back to work early...I know not having any vacation pay etc hurts when your not getting paid because I didnt have any income coming in and an 8 yr old when I had my surgery but I finally got a lil check from human services to help it was only 201 a month...and that sucked....it doesnt seem fair to us who work so hard and have nothing especially when we need it to...God Bless You and keep me informed!! Hi Renee' it's so good that you have a great support team, and staying upbeat and positive will help you in the long run.. Tim was layed up close to 2 weeks, it was such a long surgery, and he stayed in the hospital an extra day, so he went back to work as soon as he felt good enough..I hope 2 weeks will be enough time for you, but everybody is different in their ways of healing..I want to wish you the best of luck with your nephrectomy, i'm sure you'll do well, it's the 30th right ?? In case i don't get a chance to talk to you before you go, my thoughts and prayers will be with you, Thanks so much for the hug and i'm glad i could help in anyway, write me anytime Renee' Take good care... Becca

Close Degenerative Disc Disease
I have a 24 yr old daughter that has suffered with DDD since age 12. She missed out on her whole teen life due to multiple surgeries, pain, etc. She was at one time almost completely bed ridden for a year. If I can help with any advice let me know.
Close Senior Dating & Sexuality
Looking for input on men in their 50's or 60's & what they think of dating gals in their young 40's. I am tired of men my age thinking they are hot and handsome(when they are going bald and have a big gut or just plain ugly)and looking at cute young gals. They don't know how to treat a lady like a lady. I am 43. I want a man that can treat a lady with respect, romance, and love from the heart, is mature and knows the value of loving their mate The only men that seem to know that are older.
Open Obesity
In high school I worked out hard and every day for up to 1 1/2 hrs to stay in shape. I still weighed 165 pds. but was fit and trim and had some muscle with BMI of only 7%. I had a nice figure then. After high school and marriage then kids, I started to gain weight. I gained 60 pounds with my first pregnancy. Slowly been gaining since then. I am considering gastric bypass surgery. I am still young at heart and love life and want to live life to the fullest.
Open Renal Cell Carcinoma (Kidney Cancer)
I just recently found out I have Renal Cell Carcinoma. It's what I call a coincidentaloma because it was found by coincidence. It started wtih a chest xray to see if I had pneumonia which showed something just below my lung. That led to a chest ct which showed the tumor on my kidney, which led to a biopsy then the RCC diagnosis. Next is a nephrectomy on March 30. My question is, what is the short or long term prognosis after having a nephrectomy and the dr says it hasn't spread beyond that.
