I am looking to make some friends who understand. My husband and I have been trying for a baby for 6 years I had an early misscarriage after trying to get pregnant for 2 years and since then Nothing! We were referred to an infertility clinic and have been seeing a specialist for 1yr but have not been offered any treatment what so ever due to my weight/BMI. Its so depressing and frustrating to have to keep going to appointments just to be told to loose weight. I have managed to loose three and a half stone but at a recent appointment with an IVF specialist we were refered to I was informed I must loose another three and a half stonebefore they will consider treatment.

Thanks for such a sweet hug. I sometimes forget that people actually read my whiny-ass journal lol. Sometimes I just whine. I just tested today and tested negative. I'm already on cycle day 42 and have no idea when I'll have my next period. *sigh* I just got a job again so I'll schedule a doctor visit when I get my first check. *hug* Thanks for reading : )

I know it's so frustrating, and it does seem unfair having PCOS... That's wonderful that you lost 49 pounds! That's how much I'm trying to lose too- but the weight is stubborn, ya know? There's a group on here for weight loss too- and you may find some good tips and you will definitely find LOTS of support there :-) Here's a tidbit of inspiration for you: My friend here on DS just had her first baby in February after years of trying and having PCOS just like you and I! Her name is Allie26, and you can find her on my friends list. She knows what it's like, and her story offers hope to everyone else like us. Sending you 'baby dust' in hopes of success! *hugs*

Close Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
Trying for a baby 6 years diagnosed with PCOS about 1 1/2 years ago seeing infertility specialist but have only just been perscribed first course of treatment fingers crossed it works as IVF clinic was a traumatic and disheartening experiance.

- Metformin Too Soon to Tell
- started 24th July 2008
- HSG (Hysterosalpingography) Somewhat Helpful
- Discovered that I had no current problematic cysts and no tube blockages.

Struggling to get used to our IVA we seem to never have any money we pay approx 80% of our income to the IVA practitioners and on our mortgage which is interest only at the moment.Have gone without food gas and electric for days at a time before now because we couldn't affoard them feels like this situation is impossible! not sure how we are going to survive another 4years 2 months paying this and our mortgage.

My husband and I have been trying for a baby for 6 years after 2 years of trying I got pregnant but misscarried at 8 weeks. I have been diagnosed with PCOS since 23rd july 2008 I am on Metformin for that and being given Clomid and HCG injections to help me conceive again it was 5 3/4 years before I was offered any PCOS or infertility treatment.
Treatments
- Metformin Too Soon to Tell
- Hopefully this might reduce my chances of misscarriage because of PCOS.
- Clomid Working / Worked
- Does seem to make me produce eggs though egg growth takes longer than my consultant expected.
- hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) Too Soon to Tell
- Recieved my first monthly injection 22nd August 2008.
