I started a treatment where I had to take water pills and it helped a little but I also started taking pills for my kidneys and right now I am on the highest dose I could take but im not 100% better. Now the doctors are thinking of starting me on an IV medication called cytoxin to see if that will help, I am nervous!!!!!!

I was diagnosed with lupus about 21/2 years ago. I am 23, and I have a 3 year old daughter. I find it hard because i never know when I'm going to be ok or not. My mom has been a great supporter, she has helped me with my little girl when i have been hospitalized, and whenever I have needed her she has always been there for me. Also my friends, and family have been a great support. But i would love to meet people with the same condition as I. :)
Treatments
- Cellcept Working / Worked
- I have taken it for about a year and has helped me a lot, but im not at the point where the doctors would like me to be.
- Plaquenil Somewhat Helpful
- i haven't seen any effects of it. Been on it for about 2 years
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- has helped a lot with the pain and swelling! but side effects suck!!!! I have been taking for about 2 years and the doctors have raised the amount and lowered it, right now im on 10mg, can't go any lower because I get too much pain
