I was diagnosed with IC 5 yrs ago. I denied it until my flares started to get bad 2 yrs ago. I went to a new doctor and was diagnosed again. I am just starting to accept the diagnosis and am having a real hard time dealing with it. My husband and I have been through a lot together and now we have IC to deal with and work through. I'm now looking for new ways (not traditional medicine) to solve my IC troubles and am prepared to follow the diet, use herbal meds, and anything else I can find.
I am really hoping for some sort of socialized healthcare in the future. I am a full time student, a wife, I work 25 hours a week, volunteer 8 hours a week and because of a chronic illness I have I have to take out student loans in order to pay for the $700 medical expenses each month. I'm am so stressed and going so far into debt. I with I didn't have to worry if I would be able to afford my month's medical expenses.
I have Interstitial cystitis and my condition has put quite the strain on my and my husbands sexual life.
