About Me
I have a "slight" disk bulge at C3-4 and a more prominent one at C5-6, but both are within "norm" range for central spinal or neural stenosis so doctors choose not to do anything with these bulges. What is "Within Norm Range"? What is for one person mat not be for another, but doctors don't look at the person, only thr "Norm Range". I also have deg. disk disease in 3 other places in my back that cause me problems. After the doctors at Mayo Clinic said was nothing else to do with my neck; I was diagnosed with FMS/CFIDS.For 8 years now I have tried to maintain lifes balances after hurting my neck. I am a mother of 2 wonderfull young adults whos ages are 22 and 20. I have 4 cats who now seem to rule the house. I am a part time student for the last 3 years struggling to maintain lifes balances while working full time as well. This last year I went through several high stresses, and I felt myself declining further. I cried out to the Medical Community with several different test-All are "Within Norm Range", but I am going down hard and know I need help. I haven't worked now since December 3rd '07. I can't seem to get better. I am still trying to maintain some classes since I am so close to getting an Associates in Business. It is tough. Since my medical life change, my cognative functioning among other things is really bringing me down. I was able to work with my pain, but now being different "stupid" , I am struggling. What my mentality use to be isn't anymore. I cry at times because I get so confused. I am looking for friends online because I have very little support with friends, family, coworkers, and of coarse doctors, so I needed a support group to talk with out there.

Interests
College classes keep me busy. I like all kinds of music, going out to eat and trying new authentic foods; and I love the popcorn at the movies-I cannot seem to make it the same at home-lol. My passion right now is learning about FMS and CFIDS, unfortunately my classes are keeping me to busy. I am going to the Fibromylagia and Fatigue Center with hopes.

Kim, Have a Merry Christmas and Blessed New Year! I'm sorry I haven't touched base, I've been so sick. My carbon dioxide has been so high and I've been so sleep all the time. Plus, always in pain, with excruciating headaches. This illness is a big cross that I need God's grace help to carry with honor. Hope you are doing well. Treatments
- Acupressure Working / Worked
- Was good, this helps relieve my headaches. I like to get a deep tissue massage.
- Acupuncture Considering
- I only had 4-5 treatments on my neck through an experiement at Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN. They had me sit up and I was attached to short wires and couldn't move very far for 20 min and became to stiff. I would be willing to try acupuncture laying down and being relaxed.
- Aqua Therapy Working / Worked
- Every opportunity I get-3x yr is all-this is the best thing for me because I also have Raynauds. Hot tubs are Great!
- Cyclobenzaprine Not Working
- At first it seemed to help with my headaches...then it didn't. Flexeral became worthless to me.
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- Take Now-this also helps with pain. I don't know if it helps or not. I wasn't on any anti-depressents for almost a year and then I asked to bbe put back on something and cymbalta is it.
- Effexor Not Working
- I couldn't get up in the mornings. It also made me gain weight.
- Elavil Not Working
- Amitriptyline-I have been on a few of them
- Heat Working / Worked
- Helps sooth my neck and my stomach
- Lyrica Working / Worked
- Still Take. I went on this med originally for my neck, before it was approved for FMS. It seemed to help the best for pain.
- Neurontin Not Working
- While Back-don't remember-but I quit taking and on to something else.
- Positive Thinking Working / Worked
- I had a coworker and a my father tell me once that I was always trying to find the positive in every situation. No matter how bad a situation is, there is hope.
- TENS Somewhat Helpful
- Seemed to work in the begenning for my neck-always want things to work- but then didn't much of a difference.
- Ultram Not Working
- Vitamin B12 Too Soon to Tell
- I have had a couple shots at the doctors and I am waiting on my insurance to send me my home kit to do at home.
Close Menopause
I am 44 years old and I am done with menopause, or so my periods and my doctor tells me. I started around 33 and finished at around 42. I didn't even know I was in menopause until I was right in the middle of it eventhough I was missing my periods, but my doctor thought I was to young. My fibromylagia and my neck/back pain has been my most concern for the longest time now. I also have Raynauds, so I never got hot flashes-I would get warm and dizzy which meds could make you that way too.

- Doctor tells me it is. I cannot remember the correct days to put the dam things on though.
Open Degenerative Disc Disease
I am 44, yesterday I sat in front of the SSI office for 1/2 hour before going in. I sett up my first appointment and I feel defeated. I have had musculoskeletal pain since before 1999 Then in 2000I hurt my neck and found out I have FMS,CFIDS buy I stayed working for 8 years and took care of other peoples things, Now I cant even take care of myself. I have DDD in 3 places in my back abs I also hace 2 disk in my neck that push into my spinal canal that causes me pain
Open Codependency
Codependacy is a hard one to describe on that border line of depression. Why do I try to tale care of others before myself, only to let my own needs run down without realizing what they are. Now medically I am run down and I cannot take care on myself hardly right now and I don't understand what is happening to me. I have my house alone and I think I like it; eventhough things are not getting done around here. My heart gets broken and my kids walk over me. I stand up for myself-maybe to hard

Open IgA Deficiency
My name is Kim and I was recently diagnosed with IgA deficiency. Trying to learn all I can about this has brought me to realize how much more I am relating to this deficiency than Fibromylagia which I also have. I also have Degenerative disk disease throughout by back and my nect has a C3-4, C5-6 disk that push into my spinal canal that causes me daily headaches.
