No news is good news? Nope, not when you're a stress-binge-er. I probably won't know about the job I interviewed for until next Friday or so, and I am VERY stressed about it! I have totally fallen off the diet wagon and have been bingeing on all my stress foods, plus a few I didn't even really WANT. I am so pissed at myself. I've kept up the walks, and done SOME gym-time (3 days this past work week), but I can practically look at my stomach and watch the fat grow on it from all the crap I've been scarfing down. Sigh.
Well, got to get to the gym this evening before it closes. More later when I'm in a better mood!!

Hey! I got a job interview, finally!!! The interview is Monday, right after the first day of summer school. I'm very excited -- it is for the position of Title 1 teacher at a school that is about 15 minutes away from my house. I would still not have my own classroom, but it would be a very good stepping-stone to eventually having my own class, and right now, I'm not gonna be picky!! I truly think I would do very well in this type of position, because I work very well with small groups and one-on-one, and am practiced at assessing the individual needs of my students. I have to bone up on the specific "jargon" that the programs in our school district use, so that I sound like I know what I'm talking about!
Went to the gym yesterday evening, and got Isabella signed up. She was very hesitant to do it, because she is worried what people will think of her when she's working out. I know that's an adolescent thing, but it is frustrating to me, because in most situations she is NOT shy at all. I think she's afraid there'll be cute guys there that will see her sweating. LOL. She really does want to lose some weight and get in good shape, but we'll see if she is willing to sweat a little to get there! I told her she could bring a friend the first couple of times if she wants to -- we have a few visitors' passes -- so maybe that will make her feel a little more comfortable about it. I just hope she uses the membership, if only a couple of times a week, even. I'd just love to see her more active, and she would REALLY feel a difference once she got into the groove of having a regular workout. Because of my age, it takes a lot of work to see a little result, but at her age, I'll bet she could see noticeable results quickly.

Congrats on the job interview! I just went through that as well.. after all the time looking for a job, I finally got one! And it's the position I wanted, too! It's doing social work type stuff at this site I used to volunteer at. Anyway, I start on Wednesday. So good luck to you!
AAH! I need to get to the gym or be more active. I just don't want to go alone and I don't know anybody in this city since I'm still new here... Plus, I also don't want to work out in front of others right now :(

Wishing you the very best on your job interview; know you will do wonderful! You have a charming, engaging personality ... just be YOU! And, remember, they are just people too.
Wonderful to see you are going to the gym and that Isabella is going! It can be stressful ... just tell Isabella that the majority of the people there will simply be impressed that she is there and working out! Have found the atmosphere very supportive. Yeah YOUUU for the guest passes ... a very encouraging way to get her to go and enjoy it! Hey ... if I can go to the gym and work out at 330 lbs ... anybody can!!! ;p It's all how you approach it! I looked in the mirrors and thought ... Yeahhh Meeee for getting of my tushy and working out! ;]
Thanks soooo much for sharing! Please, please let me know how it goes on Monday! Will be thinking of you!!!
Hugggssss ...

Congrats on the interview! :D That's so exciting!
And for your daughter, good for her. I don't think it's an adolescent thing- I'm still nervous! :D I've noticed at my college I work out- and everyone there is my age. and lots of hot guys! They often are really supportive- they like to see a girl making and effort there! :D

Congratulations on the job interview. That is fabulous and I hope that it works out. The jargon is the hard part. Most of the places you can go on the school's website to find out information and also look up specific information about items pertaining to title 1. My thoughts and prayers will be with you on Monday. Keep me updated.

I actually got my butt to the gym last night! It felt so good to get back to the weights, I wondered why I had slacked off for so long!! I found out it's only $15 a month to have my daughter on there too -- if she uses it once a week, even, it's worth it to me to sign her up! She worries me with her laziness. I mean, I know she's a teenager, and I know she's taking full advantage of having no school and 'relaxing', but I KNOW when I was her age, I was outside a lot, on my bike, on my skateboard, on roller skates, taking my dog for walks, and exploring the trails around my house all the time! It seems like when she's not at a friend's house, all she wants to do is lie around, sleep, eat, watch movies, and sit in front of the computer! I hate to be the 'bad guy', but I am going to put a time limit on computer use. I'd hoped that, as the summer days got nicer and the novelty of having free time wore off, she would tire of messing about on the computer and would find other things to occupy her time, but I guess I have to force her hand a bit.
Anyway, back to the main point of this journal entry: I did 15 minutes on the elliptical machine as a warmup yesterday, then worked my lower abs, shoulders, triceps, hamstrings, and inner thighs. Today I do the second half of the weights workout -- biceps, quads, upper and oblique abs, outer thighs, lower back, and chest. And will increase my cardio to 30 minutes -- either recumbent bike or rowing machine, and treadmill. After finding that I had not gained weight in the past 3 weeks, I am eager and excited to get back to it -- perhaps my 3-week hiatus was what my body needed to be ready for a new push toward weight-loss!!
I start my month of summer school teaching on Monday (setting up my classroom tomorrow), so will have more of a routine to my days. I am really going to make a concerted effort to get up early in the morning, get to the gym BEFORE work, and then get my walk and core workout in later in the day. Maybe if I can get myself used to that kind of schedule, I will continue the morning workouts when the regular school year begins again. I would really LOVE to be more of a morning person, and start my days off with an energetic workout! I would probably get twice the exercise, because I LIKE to work out in the evenings, as a way to relax, so I would likely continue some type of evening exercise even when getting to the gym in the mornings.

Sorry to hear that this week has been stressful... but I'm so impressed by how you still went to the gym 3 times during the week, despite the stress!! Well done. It's important to remember the good, so keep in mind that this week could have gone a lot worse for you. Much love and many hugs,
~FS :)

I felt the same way two weeks ago...I ate whatever was in sight...just because...not because I desperatly wanted it...and I was hiding it from people...but the funny thing is that people can see it...it's right on my stomach! Stay strong...and use the gym as a stress reliever when you can. That's what I've been doing, and now I can finally focus!! You'll get back on it...no worries. Just keep believing and you'll do it. Three times at the gym this week is great! Keep it up...your heart will thank you! :)
