I am a 48 year old single mom, a 9/11 and 1st WTC bomb survior, had 2 back surgeries b/c of 9/11 and am on permanent disability. Living on a fixed income for the last 7 years has been tough on both of us.. My daughter is 14 and is a self- mutilator which is the most painful thing I can experience in my life..

Close Parenting Teenagers (12-18)
I am a single mom with a 14 year old daughter who is a self-mutilator.. I am at my end trying to find ways to understand this and help her to stop this very hurtful behavior.. I am a 9/11 and first WTC bomb survivor, has had 2 back surgeries b/c of 9/11. I live on a fixed Social Security disability income for the last 6 years but all this is nothing compared to the pain I see in my daughter's eyes and heart..
Treatments
- Psychotherapy Somewhat Helpful
- I am in counselling for my own issues but counselling for my daughter to me doesn't seem to be helping and she refuses to discuss med options
