What sounds block out the voice you need to hear? Is the TV on? Radio blaring? Traffic rushing by? Dishwasher on rinse? Washing machine on spin? Ice-maker clunking away? Dog next door barking? How about the noises in your mind? Thoughts of the past? Today's to-do list? This weekend's cookout? Next week? Next month? Take time to: "Be still and know that I am God."
Just a thought.
Joe

Joe what are you even thinking? All the above are normal everyday life. Did I miss the point or something? hugs

Yes Joe we should take the time to listen and hear God. We just do not do it and shame on us. I have a 90 something year old Aunt and he is what gets her thru the day. Also wish I had her energy. Have a good day friend.

I totally agree with you Joe...we tend to let these little things come between REALLY listening to His whispers. Just this morning when I was reading the scriptures I was distracted by a bird...A BIRD! Thanks for the reminder! Love ya! C

I am guilty of letting little things become my focus. Thanks for sharing....

I JUST maybe a few months ago have been able to sit done quietly and think... I used to have some kind of noise going on around me as the quietness just made me sooo sad.... I know what you mean.... Hugs,

Thanks for the reminder. David wrote in Psalms 46: Be still and know that I AM GOD. We have a God that made us and loves us and we are worried about tomorrow. How foolish!

Boy does that speak to me. Thanks.

I know the scripture...some times being still means not only listening but taking time to see the beauty God has made..I hate a real quiet house, but love to set out side in the open around the things God has made..AND BE STILL LONG ENOUGHT TO HAVE EYES THAT CAN SEE AND EARS THAT CAN HEAR....lOVE, Glenda
