A postcard from Shechem Mood
Saturday, September 13, 2008 | An Inspiring story

A Postcard from Shechem

Joshua 24.

Joshua died today, at the grand old age of 110. It was a sad day for the Israelites. It wasn't all that long ago that Moses died, there wasnt much fuss made over him either, and he led thousands of people from Egypt to the border of where Canaan lies. Now Joshua dies, I wonder who is going to lead us and give us the word of God now. Before Joshua died he blessed each of the tribes. Joshua was considerate right until the end. I loved him, he was like a dad to me. I will miss him.

The bones of Joseph were buried along with Joshua in the place that Abraham gave to Jacob, we brought Joseph's bones with us from Egypt.

Now we  enter into the age of Judges. Someone has to be appointed to judge the Israelites.

I will try to take some time out to write again, I am now old enough to be in the army, and we are really busy at the present time. Hope to write soon..

Love

Private Micha.

Amazing how long they lived. I've often wondered if 110 was really 110 or less, or more?? Dunno!
Isn't it also amazing that after all that time leading the people, Moses didn't lead them directly into the promised land!! I think 90% of the world thinks he did.
Ok Private Micha. Nice to read your postcard!!!

Moses didnt lead them into the promised land because he sinned against God = when he was told to SPEAK to the rock and water would come out of it, he HIT the rock, not once but twice.. therefore he sinned because he doubted Gods word.
