Had an effort-induced blood clot in upper right arm from hauling groceries around a store for almost an hour. Yeah, it was really stupid. This was from 1/08 to 5/08. It's a bizarre case but doctors think it mya have something to do with a slightly elevated anti-cardiolipin. Although newer tests show favorable results. I now have to figure out if I have some sort of auto-immune condition or not. I am off Coumadin (thank God!) and since have been taking Natto, Fish Oil, and Vit. E as preventatives as well as keeping up with my wellness. Everything has been great and I couldn't be more grateful that I'm still HERE. I like visit here to see whats going on in the community and to show support any way I can. I did this all alone so I know that it feels like you're alone. Just feel free to contact me if you want to talk or anything. I open my doors to all! :) Aside from that: I am a film and video maker in South Florida. I love to create. Art and craftsmanship are my passion and inspiration. Music is also a fuel that drives me. I could say I love all forms of media (except TV most of the time). I think that will do for now. :]

Close Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
On 1/16/08, I was diagnosed with a DVT in my upper right arm (near arm pit). This was 2 days after a day of which I was grocery shopping with a heavy hand basket for an hour. When I got home I experienced swelling in my right arm. I went to my PCP and was told to go to the hospital to get an ultrasound, got treated, & now I'm here. I am SO BLESSED & grateful that I caught this early. Now I'm just struggling to get used to this and trying to find answers to my specific condition.
Treatments
- Coumadin Working / Worked
- Was on this medication from 1/08 to 5/08. Veggies are very important to me so I felt I shouldn't have to give it up--so being regulated was very tough. I had to do two blood tests a week during this time. But toward the end, I actually was seeing stability and that was because I would eat the same measured salad daily.
- Heparin Working / Worked
- During my 7 day stay at the hospital, I was on heparin.
