Thanks for that! it's comforting.
Maybe people these days are scsred of having deep close relations, or just void of humanity!!
Thankyou for posting your message re showing compassion. Many people find it difficult to show(or feel) real compassion or empathy, to real people.
I came out of hospital today after only being in 24hrs for a minor emergency op. The people who gave me a lift home were so full of stories about themselves and we had to go and do their shopping on the way home etc, with me feeling more than slightly nauseaus in the car. Am i being 'needy /? I didn't pick up any real feelings . This is my family too. (Who are unwell but... )They are always ready to talk about celebs illnesses etc but perhaps its too close for their own flesh and blood. Crazy world we live in.
I wanted to agree with you on your comment on the mass media frenzy of obsession with the death of Michael Jackson. Thank you for your willingness to step outside the box and voicing your opinion. Namaste
Mama has been diagnosed with a brain aneurysm -- small and inactive at present, but they're keeping an eye on it. Every woman in her family has died of a massive stroke, and we're now convinced that these aneurysms are the cause. A young woman in Daddy's bank dropped dead one afternoon walking across the floor of the bank, as an aneurysm burst that they didn't know about. Mom is terrified now.
Daddy has been having heart attacks for 20 years; he's on his third pacemaker (installed July 2006). Heart damage was apparently caused by high blood pressure. Mama says he's been in the hospital 30 times with heart trouble; he's fed up with the hospital and says he'd rather die in the yard. Medication is changed frequently and seems to clash with everything else he takes, sooner or later. Food restrictions drive him crazy and he cheats, which drives Mama crazy.
I was born with elongated eyeballs which stretches the retina abnormally. Have been told since I was a child that one day I would go blind very suddenly when the retinas let go. Three years ago when I looked through the view finder of my camera I could not see anything; thought it was the camera until I tried the other eye. Doctor confirmed the retina in my right eye has disintegrated from right centre to its edge. I can no longer drive.
My cousin Eric has been diagnosed with Lymphoma and none of us know much about it. Family members have died of the brain kind but this isn't that kind; it is in his chest.
