Close Atrial Fibrillation (AFib)
Hi, I am 59 and have had paroxysmal AF for 3.5 years. Currently I am able to work my normal job (GM of a manufacturing plant). However in the past my episodes have been debilitating while they lasted.
Treatments
- Betapace Not Working
- Sotalol (AKA Betapace) put me in this 20 day cycle. For 18 days I would be in NSR and for 2 days I would be in AFIB. That cycle was repeated 4 times and then my cardiologist deemed the drug a failure for me. He then put me on Flecainide which, thank God, is working 100% of the time
- Coumadin Working / Worked
- No problem as I am kind of anal and enjoy keeping track of diet and trying to relate diet with INR
- Metoprolol Working / Worked
- Did not work as primary therapy. Providing protection against LBBB
- Tambocor Working / Worked
- Flecainide is working 100% of time for the last 5 months. QT interval lengthened slightly to 480 msec. Dose was cut back, no further problems
Close Varicose Veins
I was diagnosed with varicose veins in 1990. I had not problem with them until recently when they started to hurt. Would like to konw how others are treating this condition
