I am a mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and registered nurse, who is presently a primary caregiver to her Mom who has End Stage Lung Disease, Breast Cancer, and Dementia, and who just lost her Dad after taking care of him with a long illness with Lung Disease and Kidney Failure, coping still with the loss of him and a estrangement from my only son is somewhat depressing and Mom's condition keeps me pretty much homebound and not much time to myself. I also am disabled with Systemic Lupus, degeneraive joint disease, spinal stenosis, and rheumatoid arthritis.

I am seeking advice for my sister who is raising her twin 3 year old grandsons who are being evaluated this year for autism by a pediatric psych and a neurologist. I am seeking advice and support for her as she is very stressed and does not where to turn.
I am a 50 year old registered nurse who has Lupus, degenerative joint disease and rheumatoid arthritis. I have been diagnosed for 9 years.
I took care of my father for the last 5 years at my home when he became ill with emphysema and I got Hospice the last two years till his death 10 months ago. It has been so hard because he was a big part of my life and we were so close. My Mom has dementia the past three years, so I became her replacement for him in his dying days like staying in the hospital trips with him, and the emergency visits, she just was unable to be there for him, because of her memory and mood changes.
Caring for my 83 year old Mom in my home with End Stage COPD, breast cancer and dementia
My sister and her brother-in-law are raising their twin grandsons who have behavior and developmental problems. The last 3 years have been a nightmare for them.
I have a mentally retarded neice who is pregnant with a little girl who is due in October. My sister and brother in law are raising her twin three year old boys and have had them since they were 7 months old when DCF took them from my neice because of neglect and abuse. She was living with a supposedly responsible 24 hr live in assistant provided by a mediacaid waiver agency, but the person was leaving my neice alone with the boys for hours and my neice was forgetting to care for the boys.
My 83 year old Mom, who has dementia caused by vascular injury after a stroke and has gotten progressively worse the past three years. I am her principal caregiver and she is most times a sweetheart, but her periods of agitation and sundowner's syndrome are getting worse. It breaks my heart when she gets the lost look on her face and wants to go home, but she does not know where her home is most nights.
My sister is raising her twin grandsons who just turned three years old and are diagnosed with ADHD/OCD/ODD. They have therapy at home and are on two different meds they just started, but does not show any improvement. The hatred that comes out of their little mouths and anger just stupifies me when I see it. I have never seen a little toddler with so much anger. They are starting Fiddlers pre-school this month to get them ready for Kindergarden and they will get therapy all day long.
